Domain FAQs

WHAT IS A DOMAIN?

A domain name is your website name, also known as your "www" or your URL. It is the address users type in or click on to access your website. Technically speaking, a domain name is used to identify and the IP address and display the files that make up your website.

DO YOU OWN MY DOMAIN?

We do not own your domain. We work with our customers to ensure they own and have complete access and control over their domain.

WHAT IF MY CURRENT COMPANY OWNS MY DOMAIN?

If your current company owns your domain, your CSM and PM can help you transfer this into an account your control.

CAN I KEEP MY CURRENT SITE AND LAUNCH THE DOCTORLOGIC SITE ON ANOTHER DOMAIN?

No. By choosing to do this, you are essentially competing with yourself. Because your primary domain already has authority and history with Google and other search engines, it is highly unlikely that a new site will be able to compete in the same space.

We have seen poor SEO performance from customers who attempt to manage two or more sites in a market. Launching a new website with no existing history or 301 redirects can take considerable time to rank. Having to compete with another website for the same entity can make the process take even longer.

The exception to this rule is if you have multiple locations or specialties. Cases like this would likely be discussed and figured out with your sales person before onboarding begins.

CAN I ADD A SECOND DOMAIN TO MY SITE?

Yes. If you have a second domain that you'd like to route to your current site, we can add this as a secondary URL.

Ex: Your current URL is PracticeName.com, but you also have DoctorName.com that you'd like to use. We can set up your site so that anytime a patient enters DoctorName.com, they will automatically be rerouted to PracticeName.com.
